SourceAWS Direct Connect introduces inbound prefix controls and higher prefix scale
Administrators of large networks can now advertise routes directly instead of summarizing them or segmenting across multiple connections.
- Increases the maximum prefix allocation to 1,000 prefixes each for IPv4 and IPv6 on private and transit VIFs on dedicated and hosted connections, up from the previous limit of 100 prefixes.
- Introduces prefix capacity pools at the dedicated connection level and Direct Connect gateway (DXGW) level.
- Supports right-sizing prefix capacity per workload with pool sizes scaling by connection speed and LAG member connections.
- Available at no additional cost in all commercial AWS Regions, AWS GovCloud Regions, and AWS China Regions operated by Sinnet and NWCD.
