SourceAmazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports customer managed keys
This allows organizations with strict security requirements to maintain direct control over the encryption keys used for their database storage.
- Enables customer managed symmetric AWS KMS key selection during resource creation to encrypt underlying database storage for InfluxDB 2 database instances, InfluxDB 2 Read Replicas, and InfluxDB 3 clusters.
- The customer managed key must reside in the same AWS account and AWS Region as the database resource and cannot be changed after creation.
- Feature is accessible via the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, and Timestream for InfluxDB API across all supported AWS Regions.
- No additional Timestream for InfluxDB charge for using customer managed keys, with standard AWS KMS charges applying.
