SourceAmazon CloudWatch log Centralization now supports log group tag propagation
This allows organizations to track spending by team and manage access permissions more efficiently for centralized logs.
- Amazon CloudWatch Centralization now copies log group tags from source accounts to destination log groups created by centralization rules.
- Tag propagation automatically applies cost, ownership, and compliance tags maintained at the source to centralized log groups and keeps them in sync.
- Platform teams can preserve Application and CostCenter tags to scope access with IAM conditions and report centralized log spend in AWS Cost Explorer.
- The feature is available in all AWS Regions where CloudWatch Centralization is supported.
- Users can enable tag propagation via the Amazon CloudWatch console, AWS CLI, or AWS SDKs.
