The instances deliver 20% higher performance than R7i, including up to 30% faster PostgreSQL database performance, up to 60% faster NGINX web application performance, and up to 40% faster AI deep learning recommendation model performance.
R8i-flex instances offer sizes from large to 16xlarge for applications that do not fully utilize all compute resources.

Both models run on Bedrock's next-generation inference engine with zero-operator access (ZOA) enforced at the chip.
Customer inference data is not used for model training and does not require sharing data with OpenAI.
Available to eligible customers in the US East (Ohio) AWS Region who enroll in Daybreak access from OpenAI.
