New Small Spacecraft Technology Demonstration Mission at the Moon

This technology is necessary for astronauts to safely dock with lunar landers during crew transfers to the surface. It also reduces dependence on Earth-based tracking for spacecraft positioning.

Targeted for launch in 2027 using two 400 kg small spacecraft.
Contract awarded to Advanced Space with spacecraft from Terran Orbital Systems, Inc.
Will feature an optical imaging payload from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
