SourceNASA’s Roman Telescope to Carry 1.35 Million Names to Deep Space
This initiative allows millions of people to be symbolically included in deep space exploration by having their names physically sent into space.
- Memory card contains 1,350,144 names submitted globally, including Artemis astronauts.
- The observatory will travel to the Sun-Earth Lagrange point 2 (L2), approximately 1 million miles from Earth.
- Targeting launch no earlier than Aug. 30 aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A.
