SourceAWS IAM now supports 20 managed policies per role by default
AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) has increased the default quota for managed policies per role from 10 to 20. This change is designed to simplify permission management by reducing the need for manual quota requests.
Why it matters
Administrators can now more easily implement security best practices or add third-party partner products without undergoing a request process for additional policy slots.

- The update applies automatically across all commercial, GovCloud (US), and China Regions.
- Users can still manually request quota increases up to a maximum of 25.
- Higher defaults support separating permissions into purpose-specific policies.
